Lucas Lecacheur, who grew up on the French island of Île de Ré, has developed a distinctive design language that treats functional objects as sculptural propositions. His boards feature radical formal departures from industry standards: one splits in the middle to create crab-pincer shapes, another exaggerates stingray anatomy, while others incorporate webbed contours or cartoon-like flame silhouettes.
