An in-feed slot appears every 5-7 stories with smart placement rules. An in-article slot sits inside each expanded reading view.
When AdSense is approved, only three values change in ads.js. Frequency rules already protect new users from ad burnout: no ads in the first 4 stories, sparser cadence for first-time visitors, hard cap per session, and exclusion of sensitive categories like restitution.
